Couldn't find a clear explanation of how they impact performance neither in game or the MC thread.

you can shift click to test them, but idk how to see the test results, there's no config folder

Eh, that would help a lot to effectively choose one, I've tried to test them with the F3 infos open but didn't noticed anything.

just double click BetterFps jar file,, you'll find the menu Test Algorithmhs there...

Thanks to @reazon7, benchmarks can be seen as he explained. Now I know which setting to use for real and not based on "a feeling" ^^
