Teleport to a snowy biome (e.g. snowy taiga; it has to be snowing outside) and go underground, find any sizeable cave and notice that it's snowing. Same happens when you go underwater. Seems to only happen with snow in snowy biomes, as it's specifically the "ambient" snow, not the storm.
