When spring water is picked up with a bucket, it turns into regular water.

This is intentional. It would be too overpowered if players could transport it normally.

I play on a small server, just 4 friends and I. Would there be any chance of getting a config override for those of us that aren't too worried about this being too OP? Obviously the default would be off. This could extend to poison as well.

There used to be exploits for this. For example, pumping it directly in to, and out of, an ExtraUtilities drum. You may want to explore other possibilities that don't require changes to BoP.

Yeah I found an alternative. I created a shopkeeper that sells buckets of Spring Water for gold. Simple solution for us.
