Render distance above 120 chunks results in fog in the End flipping

I'm running Bobby v2.1 with Sodium v0.3.3+build8 on Minecraft 1.17.1
When I'm in the end with a render distance at 120+ chunks, the End that is normally invisible behind fog is now visible, and nearby blocks are invisible as if there was only fog close to the player.
This may be an issue with Sodium rather than Bobby but I will put this into Sodium's bug section too, or just a setting that I'm missing.
To reproduce
- Go to the end dimension
- Set render distance to 120+
- You will see that everything is invisible, but when you go far away enough, you can see it again.
Update
This is a lot more confusing than I thought.
The fog issue only happens when you're on the main island. When you leave and head out to the farther floating islands, everything looks normal.
