NeoForge 1.21.1 - odd behavior

Oak saplings drop hemp seeds from immersive engineering:
Placing a bonsai in the world gave multiple advancements to the player (from farmers delight mod, so may be a bug on their end):
After growth and harvesting, sometimes has no drops (may be intentional, not sure what drop rate is supposed to be):

It seems like some mod is modifying the minecraft:blocks/oak_log or the minecraft:blocks/oak_leaves loot tables, which are being used by oak bonsais.

I reproduced both issues with only Bonsai Trees and Immersive Engineering installed. For the random advancements when first placing the bonsai pot I got 2 vanilla and 3 IE. Industrial hemp seeds dropped for all sapling types.

I had a player of my pack break a bonsai pot and only get a hemp seed in return, no pot dropped. could this be related?

I can reproduce using only the mods I listed above (plus EnderIO). I reproduced twice; first with a diamond axe and then with a netherite axe. Before it happened, the pot repeatedly dropped as expected, but twice nothing dropped when it broke.
