I imagine this is a tiny oversight after having moved the Golden Laurel Crown to the new "Head" slot in the new versions of Baubles. When the Golden Laurel Crown triggers on death, instead of saving the player and deleting itself, it saves the player and deletes whatever bauble is in the amulet slot instead.
