This bug might be a bit obscure, I have noticed that sometimes when I start up my game, which I solely play singleplayer, my inventory had reset to a previous point in time.
As an example this morning I started up the game cleaned up my inventory and crafted a terra shatterer, then I had to do some other things and closed it. Now I started up the game again a few hours later and my inventory is not cleaned the terra shatterer has reset with the manasteel pick i had before and a chest that I had put the manasteel pick in before also contained a manasteel pick so I now have two manasteel picks but no terra shatterer.
Also I seem to lose one of my baubles regularly the smaller version of the nimbus amulet(I forgot the name), the double jumping amulet, it has disappeared 3 times now.

Actually this issue might be a basic Minecraft issue. I looked into it a bit further and might have to do with me opening to lan, this somehow gives you new playerdata and this therefore resets inventories.
