What I expected to happen:
after the update from Botania and patchouli normal start thes games.

What happened instead:

the game won't start anymore and i can't continue with my modpack because botania is one of the main mods the rezepe is based on.

Not Botania, the log says:

[11:32:13] [main/INFO]: [java.lang.ThreadGroup:uncaughtException:1052]: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: icyllis/modernui/forge/MixinConnector has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0

This means that the Modern UI mod has been compiled with a newer Java than Java 8 by accident. Feel free to report this to them and link this comment.
