How to reproduce:
Have only 1 torch in inventory.
Rclick elementium pickaxe (that places torches)
torch gets placed but there is an empty stack in inventory (with 0 torches in it).
The pick can no no longer place torches until I throw this empty stack away.

The same thing happens with axe and saplings.
Seen on few botania versions (latest 174) in SMP.
