[Suggestion] Mana/EMC Value

Hey, Botania devs. Since EE3 is now (more or less) existing, I want to suggest a way to evaluate stuff like Manasteel and assign it EMC.

So, let's see.. A simple flower, such as, Entropinnyum generates 6.5k mana by consuming 1 TNT.
EMC of TNT is 964. So 6500/964=6,742738589211618. That way we can say, 1 EMC equals about 7 mana points.
If we take a look at Munchdew, it generates 160 mana per 1 leaf block. EMC of Leaves is 1. So 160/1=160. 1 EMC equals 160 mana points.

So, what I want to point at, is that Botania has a very interesting way of evaluating mana: more cool the way you generate mana (eating cakes, dropping colored wool in sequence), more mana you'll get. And it's really hard to do Mana/EMC conversion rate, really. But still I want to be able to exchange Botania stuff with EE3. I hope @Vazkii will come up with a good idea to do it, once EE3 becomes more stable.

Thank you for reading my poor English, hope y'all have a nice day/night/things/stuff!

Yeah, a config option for those would be reasonable, but let Vazkii decide what she wants to do :P

There is nothing preventing people from adding EMC to botania items manually (EE3 already adds that option), but adding them by default, even through config, seems counter to the intent of botania

You can and you WILL receive either one-word response with closing the issue, or a link to explanation why Vazkii isn't going to provide ANY intermod "power" (RF, EMC, whatever) compatibility and closing the issue.

MYTH BUSTED!

Just because it is unlikely does NOT mean it wont happen at all, and I personally see no reason not to have some of the basic things added by botania have EMC, do remember that botania has a LOT of decorative blocks it adds in, making it easier to get those should never be discouraged. (Its the whole premise behind Chisel!)

Vazkii might choose not to add EMC values to mana-infused items on purpouse, so as to require you to actively use the botania mechanics instead of using a short-cut, personally I prefer that mana infused items should only be craftable using mana, but that is a personal thing.

Possibly a config option?

Yeah, you could just not use EE3 to avoid this 'cheaty crafting'. That's the main thing of EE, though. Config option would be the best way to do it, IMO.

I don't think this is going to get anywhere. Vazkii is trying to keep the mod original, and being able to use EE for everything wouldn't just kill that, but it would also allow the user to skip a good bit of the mechanics.(And no, if you know Vazkii, you also know that a config option like that is completely out of the question.) If you want to specify the EMC values by yourself, just go with the highest still "equivalent" value to prevent exploits and you're done.

Anyway, if Vazkii is intrested in doing anything with the EMC values, adding values to the worldgen flowers and mushrooms would be nice, but anything more than that would be more harmful than useful.

Should have specified: I meant a config option to disable/enable EMC values for worldgen things only or possibly pure daisy things

Well, I am still going to add EMC values to items on my server. Probably also make some of them unlearnable (got this idea from Pahimar, I think it's fine). But there's a thing: I'm making a Botania addon and let's just say it relies on having Mana/EMC rate. I can create my own, but I don't want to break the balance in case @Vazkii decides to add one in the original mod. Still waiting for his response, though.
