I was wondering if there would be a way to have Build Guide interact similarly to the EasyPlace does for Litematica so that while I'm holding a block and I right click on the template for a shape from Build Guide, to easily place the block in my hand instead of having to build support blocks/build to the shape. This would especially be helpful for dome shapes or circles so I dont have to build supporting blocks then delete/break them after building to where I need to build to.

Sounds interesting and I had already planned to do something similar with WorldEdit for later. However, I don't think it's something for the near future.

I'll keep the issue open to have a look at again later, though.
