To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Set up and play a online multiplayer game.
- Use multiple quarries at the same time.
- Watch the packet loss and weep.
Note: The issue could, and likely is, client side. As no one else playing on the server is having issues.
I think this is because the server is trying to use more bandwidth to send a lot of item data to your client, compared to your available bandwidth (which is probably why no-one else is having issues, as they are either nowhere near the quarries or have more bandwidth than you. Obviously it would be better to reduce the amount of item packets being sent rather than slow your game down :p
However I am wondering: if you go further away from the quarries + item pipe setup does the problem go away?
