#319 was closed as not seeing the need for sided gates. I agree that normal gates should not be sided. However, perhaps a new type of gate could be added that IS sided? It would make some types of automation a lot less tedious.

no need for that, just put an iron or gate on it. have output an redstone signal when the mass fabricator is empty stopping it. also have it output an red wire signal, that goes to an toggle latch and a timer, the latch turns on the engine(i reconmend using something better then redstone engine) and the timer shuts the latch back off
