See http://mod-buildcraft.com/forums/index.php?topic=56.0. From very early experiments, it seems that at least the laser doesn't have a proper label.

Yup - I'm keeping it to make around of testing, verifying that everything works fine with lasers. If you can confirm, then it should be closed indeed.

I actually ran into this same exception when trying to craft the laser before i re-added registering the block name. I was able to craft the laser afterwards.
