Allow a pipe to have several gates

Was already mentioned before, but with robot stations, to allow fine control over actions and triggers, it will be nice to have gates created only on one side of pipes, as to be able to put up to 6 gates on a pipe.

Just a few questions:

  1. How do you plan on rendering the gates - just gates on facets that have gates, or if one gate is deployed, the rest of the facets would have some "filler icon" (e.g. just a black/grey rectangle the size of a gate)?
  2. I assume that gates could be deployed only on sides that don't have anything connected to them, right?

1 - just on the faces that have gates
2 - it will behave like a plug probably, so will actually cancel connections

This might be in the wrong place, but is it intended that gates cannot access objects through facades? I make facades to hide pipes behind chests, but if I put a gate to check inventory status, it cannot read the chest.

A hollow facade? Since when do facades block pipes?

@Prototik sorry I noticed your replies so late. I need to finish and push changes for gate parameters first, as these touch similar parts of the code.

@Prototik maybe you can then also implement a holow facade? like the holow covers from RP2 and project red. So could still be able to put a facade on a pipe under a chest and access it like da3dsoul said but in some cases (compact builds) i like the blocking feature so it only reads the right inventory
