@LemonNick - could you try http://asie.pl/bc709h.jar?
@asiekierka - bc709h seems to have fixed it for me. I put it into the testbed for my server's mod pack, and was able to place a tank beside a track without a crash. Also I was also able to load a save that was previously crashing due to that bug.
