ok, i mean i'd like to be able to configure the amount of slots available for each tier.
re: daypack=3 slots, camping pack=27 slots, hiking pack=108 slots
or
daypack=5 slots, camping pack=10 slots, hiking pack=15 slots
for examples

108 slots is way to overpowered imo. Packs aren't meant to be full storages for everything. It's not an end game item.

that's as maybe but carrying 4 shulker boxes has 108 slots so overpowered would depend one how it's integrated and what kind of pack it's included in imo (example is it took 3 complete days to craft the mid tier pack the way i've altered the recipe, i've also removed shulker boxes so thought this could afford a balance)... those numbers were just an example anyway, how high would you go before you'd say it's too much?
