Now that Carpenter Blocks accept Glowstone, it would be very usefull to have a fast-craft way to do that.
Put a carpenter with a piece of glowstone dust into your crafting window to apply that glowstone effect to the carpenter, so that you can place it as a glowing block.
Put a Carpenter block with another block into the window and apply the chosen skin to it.

With that it would reduce the amount of time needed a lot, currently it takes a while to place the block first, apply the glowstone and then the skin. three steps just to place one block

It would reduce time, as would many shortcuts to building using Carpenter's Blocks. The catch is that as ItemStacks, none of the blocks are intended to hold any data. They completely erase their properties when destroyed, and always start clean when placed. This would also require some fancy rendering work when showing the blocks as items.
