Hi @Mineshopper ! I believe this would be a nice addition to CarpenterBlocks! Doors having a open/close animation rather than instantaneously closing and opening.
In fact i have both mods installed, but due to this difference i stayed with malisis doors. And despite Malisis having some degree to customize doors, i really like your way to customize this :P

Its little tricky to create a proper "screenshot" to show what i was suggesting. So here a video review containing some animations (0:37 shows standard doors animation and around 7:00 garage and fence gate animations):

Out of curiosity, in the "For modders" section of mod thread there are some instructions if you want to rely in Malisis code, but if dependency are a problem ignore this.

Seems like the mod author really dont like my suggestions.

Anyway, i have give up from minecraft due to such douchebags mod authors and Mojang.
