I had a carpenters pressure plate already placed in world, placed a garage door a few blocks above it which caused the lowest piece of the door to render horizontally at 90 degrees when breaking the pressure plate ( http://i.imgur.com/JBAxEmv.png ). Out of curiosity I put down another carpenters pressure plate and moved onto it which caused a StackOverflowError crash.

Sorry about the extremely late response. I just tested this scenario in the latest development build and it seems to be resolved now.
