Minecraft failing to start - wrong MC version compatibility in file's description?

Description
The Windows mouse loading wheel icon will spin for a bit when I press play but then the process just dies, never opening a Minecraft window.
To Reproduce
At least assuming you are using the Overwolf/Curseforge launcher:
- download version 1.4.112 of Carpet into an empty modpack.
- Go to the Modrinth website and manually download and install version 1.17.0 of Carpet Fixes into the mods folder.
- Press Play on the modpack and see that nothing happens.
- Remove 1.17.0 of Carpet Fixes and swap it out for version 1.16.1.
- Press play and see that it works just fine.
Minecraft Version:
- 1.20.1 Full Release
Fabric Modloader Version - 0.15.11
Carpet-Fixes Version: - 1.17.0 (1.20–1.20.4)
Carpet Version: - 1.4.112 (1.20–1.20.1)

Additional context
I was using the Overwolf/Curseforge launcher since the Modrinth launcher doesn't let me log in with my Minecraft account for some reason. I assume that shouldn't make a difference though and that the problem is that a wrong Minecraft version description was put with the file download, especially considering how downgrading Carpet Fixes made things start working.
I should mention that this doesn't produce an actual crash report file, so the latest log file is the best I can offer you.
Oh, looks like you guys are already aware of this. My bad. #164
