Thunder starts every day at 6000 ticks into the day

Removing carpet fixes it, though with a delay.
When I went to sleep with carpet removed, the next day it still thundered, but the day after it didnt.
When I added carpet back in, it didnt thunder on the first day, but then it did thunder every following day at 6000 ticks into the day.
