you try to use the same command again when there's no un-carpet player (people who without a carpet installed). Maybe the problem can be fixed if everyone has a carpet?

if no one is on the server except me, no error is displayed but nothing happens

if I do /player Steve spawn the error still happens

I had the same error, although I'm on single player, have a different set of mods, and I just had the Corrupt carpet data for scShapes part.
I bisectioned my mods down to pinpoint the conflict, got carpet TIS addition, and found that they already have this issue on their repo fixed in v1.63.2 (August 11th): TISUnion/Carpet-TIS-Addition#172
I don't know if this is applicable/if you have TIS on the client side.
