There's a lot of apps in the survival category, there's no denying that. I suggest adding a few tags so that each app can be tagged (maybe right after the title, maybe after the description), so that users can shop for apps more easily. I don't think github allows for a proper tag based filtering system, but at least users can serach for one tag at a time to get a minimal improvement in the navigation experience.

If someone is aware of a way other than the "fin in page" feature of browsers to make this work, I'm all ears.

Tags could be stuff like

#utility/tool
#vanilla+ (???)
#modded-port

Maybe this could be added just to the Readme.md, so you can have tags which are links? tho it still wouldn't work too well, I dont think

I was thinking of some sort of shebang line that could be added to apps that would be read by the client - this way some more info about the apps + metadata, search terms could be stored right in the first comment of the app.

But that would need a good spec to be useful

will transfer to carpet - since that would need to be defined there.
