I get it... it's a lava lamp, made out of lava. But it is a furniture item that one expects to not burn your pet cat to death!

Please consider making it a passive object, thank you!

No plans for this, the burning is intentional - will set the block path type so that hopefully they avoid it better but Minecraft pathfinding is what it is

That's unfortunate, its ability to burn entities makes it useless as a decorative block.
