I'd like to suggest a config option that changes chest recipe to vanilla chest surrounded by 8 planks, like crafting tables in Random Things. This would solve conflict with vanilla recipe and also add a bit more consistency for modpacks :)

The recommended way will be to override .JSON recipes with data packs in 1.13 - I may introduce a stopgap solution for 1.12.2 for Charset's recipes.
