Place a lever on the side opposite the short output and activate it to turn the timer off. e.g. if the timer is facing down (on a wall), place a lever above it.

Seeing the same issue, 2 timers mounted at 90 degrees from each other above a corner drain block of a smelter. I crash every time I try to shift-click on the right one and intermittently on the left

Also, a question: Is there a way to STOP the timer? I cannot find any documentation on how it works and what the what seem to be two inputs on the sides are for or how they work.
