transporter effects persist after setting down chest

I've been using the diamond chest transporter within the FS Lost Souls modpack for a long time, and no problems.
Today, without any obvious reason (no upgrades, etc), after moving a chest (something I've been doing fine all day), and setting it back down, the slowness and fatigue effects remain with me indefinitely. There is actually no indication of the effect in the GUI when pressing E. However, all the effects are felt.
I went back to an older save where the problem did not exist, and I'm am able to reproduce it. As soon as I pickup and set the chest back down, the issue is seen.
