Changing what items chickens can lay and drop from other mods

Issue Description:

Correct me if I'm doing something wrong, but I'm trying to get the chickens to lay and drop items from other mods by editing the chickens.json file and it works...but only when replacing the items with other vanilla items. I'd like to use items from other mods (specifically mystical agriculture) like I can with morechickens, and was wondering if this would be implemented in the future or if again, it's already implemented and I'm just doing something wrong.

Steps to reproduce (important):

  1. Change "lay_item": "minecraft:iron_ingot" to "lay_item": "mysticalagriculture:iron_essence"
  2. Repeat/Test with other chickens

What happens:

Chicken still lays default items

What you expected to happen:

Chicken will lay the item specified from another mod

Affected Versions (Do not use "latest"):

  • Chickens: 6.0.4
  • Minecraft: 1.12.2
  • Forge: 14.23.5.2824
  • Mystical Agriculture: 1.7.3
