This is something I think would go hand-in-hand with this mod. Have a second block, but instead of it splitting logs to planks (as in the example datapack), have it split metals into ingots (such as armour back into its constituent metals). Perhaps this would do well as a second mod, but it felt kind of right at home with this mod.

Inspiration for this was drawn from the primal tech stone anvil and really I don't see any other mods that do this sort of manual hit interaction mechanic.
