Could you try lowering the maxPacketBufferSize
value in your config file of this mod?
If you found a value that worked for you, could you let me know, so I could consider modifying the default?
i think i found maxPacketBufferSize it is in the i tried to change it from the default of 2000 to 20000 and even 200000 and it. still did not work.
i forgot to mention it is the integrated server in the java version that is where the bug happens.
it maybe happening on external servers too but i am playing offline single player creative mode.
after i noticed chestAnimation = true i changed it to false and no more crashing of the server.
that is in the colossalchests-common.toml file.
it is a fix but means the chest animations will no longer happen .
a possible better fix is to do packet splitting like how the internet works or to implement the animation locally maybe in the client side.
i think i found maxPacketBufferSize it is in the i tried to change it from the default of 2000 to 20000 and even 200000 and it. still did not work.
If I understand correctly, you increased the value.
Could you try lowering it instead?
after i noticed chestAnimation = true i changed it to false and no more crashing of the server.
This option is completely unrelated.
i did not try lowering it since it did not work and i gave up so i tried the animation option and then no more crashing of the integrated server.
and now to think about it maybe that that option sends the animation over the internet or there is some invisible animation that is sending too much data over the network.
if you was to run the chest on an external server say 2b2t or hypixel the other players i think would be able to see the chest being opened if they was in render range.
and since i am playing offline single player it tries to send the animation data to an external server that does not exist thereby an exception happens.
i cant seem to recreate the bug so i suspect that maybe since shortly after i replied the last time forge 52.0.23 came out and i updated to that and maybe that fixed a similar bug or unrelated bug in another game and coincidentally fixed this bug.
as soon as it happens again i will let you know
however attached is a screenshot of the exception
