[Bug/Compatibility] Complex Crops crops not compatible with Rustic fertile soil

I've reported similar issues to other crop mods and it generally indicates broader incompatibility, so I suspect this means the Complex Crops seeds are not compatible with other modded farmlands either. The seeds allow themselves to be planted and bonemealed a few times, but will eventually pop off as seeds. They will do so immediately if you try to plant them next to eachother.

A list of other modded farmlands that are likely incompatible:

  • Bonemealed farmland from Better with Mods
  • Fertilized Dirt from Random Things
  • Fertilized farmlands from Farming for Blockheads
  • I believe BoP has its own farmlands for its soils, but I don't use BoP so I'm not sure

Sorry for not replying sooner.
Do these mods just add different blocks crops can grow on? Complex crops extend the generic vanilla crops class, so I’m surprised they aren’t compatible already. I’m a bit hesitant to code compatibility for specific mods that aren’t already automatically compatible, but I’ll look into it if you would like.

Thanks for the suggestion. I love any and all feedback!

Hello! Sorry about not seeing your response sooner. They're alternate farmland blocks of various sorts, sometimes with different twists. Other crop mods have varying results on the same soils (ex. planting fine on all soils like pam's crops generally do, refusing to plant at all like pizzacraft crops, or the 'pop off' effect of your mod and another that I encountered a few weeks ago.) However, they generally seem to have the same effect across multiple modded soils, ie one that pops off on Rustic soil will probably also pop off Random Things soil, and one that works on one modded soil will generally work on all of them.

XL Food Mod's crops originally had the same result as Complex Crops does - I don't know much about modding, but the changelog when it was fixed mentioned that it was now compatible with 'any farmlands,' so I presume there was a fix possible which didn't require it to be done per-mod. Here is the issue and mod github, for reference:

mariot7/XL-Food-Mod#17

At the same time, there now seems to be an open issue there which suggests they didn't implement a global fix (but seems to indicate that there is one?)

mariot7/XL-Food-Mod#19

I hope that helps! Thanks for making such an interesting crop mod. :D

Hey this is awesome! Thanks for the resources! This will help a lot. I’m currently working on a lot of other projects, so adding this compatibility isn’t a high priority right now. I do appreciate your input though and I’m glad you’re enjoying the mod!
