Seems the Cobbled Deepslate > Polished Deepslate has been broken since last release.
Now requires Deepslate which is only mined with Silk Touch
This is only via crafting cube, stonecutter still works fine.


Could possibly impact other vanilla stones? untested.

This is intended; every other polished block is made with the base material block rather than the cobbled form. Not really sure why Mojang made it work this way for deepslate, especially when stone has a cobbled form and stone bricks can't be made out of cobblestone despite having the same recipe formation, or in the stonecutter.

Being able to cut cobbled deepslate into other things in the stonecutter is something we will likely be removing as well, because that isn't how it works with any other cobbled blocks (like vanilla cobblestone, which can only be cut into slabs stairs and walls). Instead, deepslate variants will be cuttable from the non-cobbled form. Again, not really sure why Mojang reversed it for deepslate.

makes sense you've done it this way for consistency, just bad timing as id mined 5 shulker boxes of cobbled 🤣
