Connected Textures on Wood with LBPR (CurseForge) does not work correctly

The Resourcepack LBPR (https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/texture-packs/lb-photo-realism-reload) uses connected textures on the wood planks to add a vertical plank at the left/right edges.
This plank is placed all over the place when using Continuity vs using Optifine.
