[Question] How does continuity fix block shading?

Hey so i'm actually working on a modpack that's gonna be using it's own texturepack, & i've been using the patrix texturepack as a reference for some of the mechanics available on continuity. One of the things that came to my attention is how continuity fixes some lighting issues within minecraft, notably how when blocks add a grass layer (model) on top of them, they aren't affected by the weird light shading issues minecraft has. See the images below for reference:
Check how continuity fixes the lighting issue on the grass models on top of the grass block. This issue is really weird too, because it's affecting the layer of the block models. So i'd really appreciate if you guys could redirect me to where exactly this issue is fixed here on your repo. Thank you in advance :)
