JEI not required

This happens with just EMI installed, although not immediately, given that it only happens on certain menus

it does it for all menus even in the pause menu in 1.20.1 just not the main menu i have also played with only emi and never had any crashes

having this issues too! pressing on a dpad while an inventory is open causes the game to crash and provides a long error:

You can fix the crash by unbinding the d pad keys for inventory movement in the controllable settings. However, I still cannot use emi at all with controllable installed. It's a shame because emi makes the modded inventory actually usable on controller if they were compatible.
