Better Third Person Mod non-functional while using a controller.

The Better Third Person mod allows for the rotation of the camera around the player without changing the player's orientation. When using this mod, the player's orientation is locked in place upon connection of the controller. upon disconnection of a controller, functionality returns to normal.
I just talked about this in the curse forge page, not knowing about the dev preferring github issues (sorry about that part btw). I can confirm this:
There's actaully no need to disconnect the controller, you can just grab your mouse and done. But actuallyt wanting to use the controller, while in third person view + Better Third Person mode locks the horizontal axis in place. You can only move the vertical axis the controller, and the full camera movement becomes mouse only.
This does not happen on second person view or first person view, gladly, but I think everyone could agree with me that having proper third person + full controller support is worth it a lot.
Were any kind of files or logs needed, just tell me how and where to grab them, and I'll gladly provide them.
I have experienced this on the 1.18.2 Minecraft version. Somehow I can't get Forge to actually load mods on 1.19 (most surely I borked my install somewhere)
