The half panels seem to make a 90 degree turn whenever the train they're one is assembled and disassembled. It only seems to affect one piece of NBT data, not "facing" or "waterlogged".

that stuff isn't actually NBT data its block states. And if this only happens on trains made interactive then it sounds like its an issue on Create: Interactives end
