Description of feature request
From my understanding, the "redirect player respawn point if it's too close to the Wither Storm" mechanic accounts for all three axes. While this helps accommodate scenarios such as players that have mines or underground bunkers, in some scenarios and playstyles, this can result in players being trapped in caves or structures with no practical means of escape, such as Explorer's Eve, which encourages setting the respawn point often and sets it when entering/exiting portals. An option to ignore the Y-axis when deciding whether or not to kick in the respawn redirection would help accommodate those playstyles and packs that encourage them.
To explain the issue that I was facing, hopefully this makes my suggestion more clear:
- I set my spawn point in a cave manually using a bed.
- Even though the Wither Storm was above me, the "redirect spawn point" mechanic did not kick in despite the Wither Storm being very close on the X and Z axes.
- This led to a death loop in said cave, as I could not get basic resources or safely return to my corpse.
- Thus, the suggestion to have a config to have the "redirect spawn point" mechanic ignore the Y-axis in its consideration.
