If a catwalk is connected to a support,and you try to shift+wrench the part that connects to the catwalk/the catwalk itself,you get 2 catwalks drop. Also happens when breaking it instead.

I found this too, latest version, 1.20.1, Fabric, shift-clicking the bottom of the catwalk with a wrench. Interestingly it doesn't work when I click any other side of it, just the bottom

Also, wow, I found this glitch only minutes after you made this issue
