Currently, printers have very few uses.

I would love a .json system that allows datapacks and modpacks to add new printer recipes.
Something as simple as an input which is inserted into a printer, and then a list of secondary inputs, of which their NBT Data can be transferred to and/or simply duplicating the item itself.
Specification for fuel quantity, and possibly fuel type, would also be useful.

This would be (personally) very useful for Exposure, in which I could set a Photo as the first input, and paper as the second input.

Updating the Printer system was actually a planned feature for 1.3.0, but was drafted due to us being busy.
Since now CEI 2.0 is planned, I believe this future should be included by then.
