Was trying to build with some large flywheels and turns out they're pixel inconsistent.(1.5x more dense than Minecraft's it seems) - this seems to only apply to the rim of it, as the center axle and spokes seem to be consistent.
It should be fixable by shrinking the uv.
The actual cubes seem to be between 7-8 pixels on the outside which I'm assuming is as a result of trying to get it to get an octagonal shape, but the 1.5x pixel difference is a bit much.
