What happened?

Vertical lift is next to useless when attempting to fly straight up perpendicular to the ground without adding a minimum horizontal tilt. There's an initial momentum that allows the player to fly vertically for a little while before losing it and causes the player to hit the ground, kind of absurd when the player can use the jetpack to move vertically up or down without the use of the elytra.

Attempting to fix this issue by boosting the elytra boost just makes the jetpack barely compensates the lacking vertical lift in exchange for ridiculously fast horizontal speed.
