Ingame, Chutes are described as the vertical equivalent of Belts. If this is the case, it would make sense for them to be able to transfer a stack of items at a time in order for their behaviour to more closely match that of Belts.

I disagree, chutes are already super powerful, not requiring rotational energy. It makes sense for them to transfer less items since the speed at which it transfers is fast. Unlike belts, where you would have to input a high speed in-order to achieve the same.

Chutes can already move item stacks, their default extraction rate is 16, but using funnels to insert funnels can transfer full stacks.
