Mechanical Saw occasionally failing to cut tree.

1.16.5
v0.3e
Using the Direwolf20 ftb modpack version 1.7.0
I've got a minecart contraption going around in a 5x5 circle planting saplings and cutting the grown trees. Occasionally the saw will pass straight through a tree or a series of trees as if it weren't there, though I can still manually chop the tree down. In addition, the saw will occasionally only break the bottom log that it contacts, or not break all connected logs in the event that a tree grows directly next to another "invisible" tree.

Video hopefully attached of one example. I'm not sure what's causing this, but it's possibly an issue with the computer I'm running the server on being older and pretty frequently skipping ticks.

Is your server on 20 tps? (See with /forge tps)

And is it only that spot that causes issues?

Overall: Mean tick time 22.878ms. Mean TPS 20.000.

It's the only spot that has issues, but that's because it's the only spot I currently have a contraption set up. I have the chunks it's on claimed and force loaded, but it is on multiple chunks. Would you like me to try moving it to a single chunk?

Edit: I've moved the contraption to be contained in a single chunk and am keeping an eye on it to see how it performs.

Edit2: Didn't even take ten minutes. It looked like it broke the tree and harvested it, but left a tree in place that can still be manually harvested.

If the minecart turns, there are a few spots not covered on the outher side of the turn. That is probably, beacause when turning some parts of the construction are moving to fast. Here is an example of the planter missing some spots:

Those spots are never covered. The same is true for the saw. You have to keep those spots free from sapplings if it bothers you, by replacing the dirt block there.

I do have it very limited where the saplings can be placed. None of the valid spots are the ones that can be missed by moving too fast, according to your image.

Still, sometimes the saw will fail to remove a tree that has grown. It's unclear to me if it's failing to cut the tree entirely or harvesting the resources and then just failing to remove it, effectively duplicating the tree since I can still manually cut it down.
