Quark vertical slabs cause issues when re-forming an entity into blocks

I have a windmill that uses Quark's vertical slabs for decoration, and it works fine in entity-form:
But when i return it to block form many blocks aren't rendered:
The missing blocks still exist and have hitboxes, and they re-appear on relog. Reforming the windmill also works, and everything is visible again while formed.
Engimatica 6 modpack with create 1.16.3_v0.3e, forge 36.1.0
