The same thing happened to me. Every time the Deployer runs into a block it doesn't effect, the game crashes repeatably and you can't rejoin the world.

There is a forge setting you can change in the forge config file called Delete Ticking Tile Entities Which should if turned on recover your world for you. You should also attach a crash report if you crash.

For the sound problem try pressing f3+t in-game when you can't hear the sound.
