Deployer causing a game-crash & world destruction.

So, the issue appears to be as follows:
Anytime a deployer, of any sort bearing any item in the 1.16.4 version interacts with a spot that contains a block aside from air, the game will immediately crash.
This has happened when:
I used a deployer holding a name-tag on a nixie tube
I used a deployer holding an Oak Log to place said log, and then it crashed when it repeated the process (While the log was still present, and holding a new log)
I used a deployer with a Redstone Block to place said block, then on interacting with an empty hand, the game still crashed.
Is there a way to fix this issue? They have a wide range of possible uses, but at this stage I'm approaching avoiding the block altogether.
EDIT: Forgot to add, upon trying to re-load the world the issue occurred in, I crash yet again.
