The [Content Observer] and [Stockpile Switch] cannot identify specific Potions.

In the attached images, I have two setups.

Upper Left Setup: a [Chest] in front of a [Content Obsever] and a [Redstone Lamp] behind it.
The [Content Observer] is set by filter to observe specifically [Potion of Night Vision].

Expected Result:
Whenever any quantity of specifically [Potion of Night Vision] is observed within the [Chest], the [Redstone Lamp] should light.

Actual Result:
Whenever any quantity of ANY Potion or an ordinary [Water Bottle] is present in the observed [Chest], the [Redstone Lamp] lights.

Lower Right: a [Block of Redstone] constant-powering a [Hopper] in front of a [Stockpile Switch] with a [Redstone Lamp] behind it.
The [Stockpile Switch] is set by filter to observe specifically [Potion of Night Vision] in the upper lane at 60% (3/5 Hopper slots) and in the lower lane at 0%.

Expected Result:
Whenever exactly 3 [Potion of Night Vision] is observed within the [Hopper], the [Redstone Lamp] should light until the quantity reaches 0.

Actual Result:
Whenever exactly 3 of ANY Potion or an ordinary [Water Bottle] is present in the observed [Chest], the [Redstone Lamp] lights.

Update: the same inability to detect specific Potions also affects the [Smart Chute].

Try using a filter with the keep data option. (I don't think it's actually called "Keep Data", but it defaults to false.)
