Currently playing on a small multiplayer with Create v0.3.1 c
We designed a quarry using pulley and set it loose. We have encountered multiple occurences of the contraption vanishing once the chunk is unloaded.
The contraption does not drop anything, it just straight up disappears. The pulley, once reversed, pulls up a single stone block or similar.
This can also cause the contraption to skip under bedrock, as one of ours did. We can't see if the contraption is still there, but we can see that the pulley is attached to something under the bedrock.

The only temporary fix we found currently is not leaving the quarry alone, but that turns boring pretty quickly.
